Richard M. Roberts and his technical staff have over 60 years combined experience in the business of technical education. Mr. Roberts is currently the author of three series of instructional materials, including texts, student manuals, instructor resources, test banks and software for Goodheart-Willcox Publishers, Inc. gw.com

This site is provided as a resource to instructors and students, primarily those using Mr. Roberts' texts, who truly want the reward of teaching and learning technology in a rewarding field. The site also offers links to manufacturers that have proven to be education-friendly and that support the materials taught in the textbooks and offered on this site.

For the past 25 years, Richard Roberts has been developing curriculum, teaching Electricity and Electronics, as well as Computer Repair and Networking Technology, and has supervised numerous technical teachers. Mr. Roberts is an accomplished programmer and computer/network technician. He has experience as the system administrator/analyst for Novell NetWare, Microsoft NT, and IBM token ring, Linux, SUSi, Network Security and other networking systems. He possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Technical Education and a Master's Degree in Administration/Supervision. He also holds current certificates with CompTIA in A+, Network +, iNet+, and Security +. He is currently an adjunct professor at South Florida Community College and he consults with a variety of companies on business and education projects.

His computer experience started as early as 1974, when he began programming and teaching the Motorola 6800 for industrial applications, which eventually evolved into the Motorola 68000 - the core processor of the Apple Macintosh computer system. Since then, Mr. Roberts has maintained his teaching status to both instructors and students as the technology has evolved, and he has remained at the state-of-the-art technical level through research, teaching, and applications.

In addition to his current position, Mr. Roberts has taught at Erwin Technical Center, Tampa Bay Technical High School, and he has taught adults in the military service. His time now is divided between writing technical materials, computer consulting and applications, and teaching students and instructors. Occasionally, he fishes.
